NASCAR could not have dreamed a better opening two weeks to the season — the youngest winner in Daytona 500 history followed by the end of elder statesman Jeff Gordon's 66-race losing streak.
Jeff Gordon ended the longest winless drought of his career yesterday (66 races) with a victory at Phoenix International Raceway. It was the 83rd victory for Gordon which ties him with Cale Yarborough for fifth most all-time on Nascar's list of greats. It was the first win for Gordon's new primary sponsor, Drive to End Hunger, after almost two decades with a DuPont paint scheme on the No. 24 car.
