How many pit crew mechanics are there on each team?
Answered By Niles Hanssen, Editor
During the 1999 season, Nascar officials have discussed whether they will limit the pit crew members per racing team in order to keep competition expenses low. At present, a Nascar racing team can have as much as pit crew members they want on the track for a weekend race. On average, they are employing 18 crewmen on the track which is composed of the crew chief, chief mechanic, car engineers, and other mechanics.
