What type of fuel does a NASCAR car use?

Answered By Niles Hanssen, Editor

Presently, most Nascar car makes use of the high-octane leaded fuel. However, because of the appeal made by the advocacy group Clean Air Watch to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Nascar is already running series of test for alternative fuels these recent years which included the unleaded gas. They have found out to be not causing any engine problem, and starting on 2008 season, all Nascar cars will be using the special unleaded fuel developed by EPA and their new fuel supplier, Sunoco.
